Health disparity is evident in the uneven distribution of medical resources amongst diverse regions or on the basis of other factors. South Korea's healthcare landscape, characterized by a limited number of public medical institutions, potentially exhibits disparities. To ascertain the spatial distribution of rehabilitation treatment and understand the factors influencing its rates across Korea was the primary objective of this study.
Data from the National Health Insurance Database in Korea, specifically administrative claims from 2007, 2012, and 2017, was incorporated into our study. The distribution of physical and occupational therapy, both falling under the category of rehabilitation, across administrative districts was examined for 2007, 2012, and 2017. The geographic distribution of rehabilitation treatment's effectiveness was evaluated over time, utilizing the interdecile range and coefficient of variation. The factors related to rehabilitation treatment were explored using a multiple random intercept negative binomial regression model. For rehabilitation treatment provided by 874 hospitals in 2007, 2012, and 2017, a total of 28,319,614 inpatient and outpatient claims were filed.
A greater increase was observed in the average rates of physical therapy inpatients and outpatients compared to occupational therapy inpatients and outpatients between 2007 and 2017. The Seoul Capital Area and other major urban centers were the primary locations for both physical and occupational therapy services. Rehabilitation treatment did not reach more than a third of the total number of districts. A more significant decrease was observed in the interdecile range and coefficient of variation for physical therapy than for occupational therapy between 2007 and 2017. Degenerative meniscus lesions are a recognized factor influencing both the initiation and the worsening stages of osteoarthritis. A systematic review of the literature evaluated the efficacy and safety of montelukast as additional treatment for adults experiencing cerebrovascular accidents.
Montelukast combined with inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) and long-acting beta2 agonists (LABAs) for treating adult CVA was the subject of a comprehensive search of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) across the CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, CBM, PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and the Clinical Trials website, covering studies initiated until March 6, 2023.
